Both controllers can operate in a manual mode, offering users guidance on optimal adjustments for ventilation and thermostat settings. Additionally, AirCompare™ supports automated control of HomeKit-enabled windows, fans, and thermostats, enhancing user convenience.

The ventilation controller assesses the energy content of the indoor air in comparison to outdoor conditions. Should it determine that opening the windows could provide free heating or cooling, AirCompare™ facilitates this adjustment, optimizing energy efficiency.

In scenarios where rain is imminent, AirCompare™ monitors local weather conditions for current and forecasted precipitation. Users have the flexibility to set the sensitivity regarding rain forecasts; for instance, one might opt to keep windows closed overnight if there is a 30% chance of rain within the next eight hours.

Similarly, the thermostat controller evaluates personal preferences alongside real-time data to enhance thermostat settings. By combining electricity rates (where applicable) with local weather forecasts, AirCompare™ calculates the most beneficial setting at any given moment. This approach aims to balance comfort with the anticipated costs of heating or cooling.

For example, a user might tolerate higher indoor temperatures during peak electricity rates in summer and prefer cooler conditions during off-peak hours at night.
